Random Safety Tip

Baby Nursery Safety Tips

1. Don't use clothing with drawstrings.

2. Avoid using soft, fluffy bedding.

3. Around 5-6 months remove hanging mobiles.

4. When baby pulls up, put mattress in lowest position.

5. Don't leave toys or stuffed animals in the crib when baby is sleeping.

6. Use doorstops to protect baby's fingers.

7. Never leave baby alone on beds, high chair, and changing table.

8. Find a place to keep baby wipes and other toiletries within your reach but out of baby's. 9. If using a bassinet make sure it has a sturdy bottom and wide, stable base and legs lock.

10. Make sure crib slates are no more then 2 3/8 inches apart. Corner posts are short and no cutouts that can entrap baby's head. Be sure mattress fits firmly.

11. Do not have baby's bed on any wall that has a window.

Be Safe At Your School or Day Care

Pediatric First Aid and CPR Class

We teach and certify schools and day cares how to prevent, recognize and respond during many accidents and emergencies.

Teachers and staff at schools and day cares are required to get certified, but in addition, they want to leave their certification class confident in their emergency skills should an accident really occur in their facility.

Our Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification class will show you a video on First Aid and CPR. Then spend two to three hours practicing CPR rescue breathing and Heimlich on infant and child mannequins.

We also teach accident prevention, for example, leaving behind a food list to eliminate choking accidents. Our CPR-First Aid Instructors bring materials with us to make your class convenient, including leaving materials behind for your references. Our CPR-First Aid class summary summarizes the class.

Many schools and day cares contact Baby Be Safe for a Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification class led by smart and pleasant instructors accommodating their busy schedules.

Testimonial

I thought the class was incredibly helpful and really allowed all of us (myself, husband and our nanny) to feel a bit more comfortable with performing CPR and dealing with the thought of dealing with a choking situation. I think it's invaluable to learn these skills and we will surely need to follow up, to practice and to take a refresher. The instruction was right on target and the information provided to us regarding additional safety hazards in the household was also extremely useful. We have already implemented some of the suggestions and hope to make our house an even safer place! We have recommended your training to all of our friends.
